a paris breakfast

breakfast in paris

i am not
a breakfast person.
i usually just
get a cup
or two
of tea
down
before
i rush out
the door
(usually late).
but
i could
get use
to breakfast
in paris.

our friends
(the same ones
who have
a place
in sea ranch)
own an apartment
on île saint-louis.
they have
a perfect
little table
by the window
that looks
out onto
a courtyard.
the softness
of the light
on the table
is magical.

grub would
go out early
to get
croissants
and
a pain au chocolat
and
we'd sit
by the window
with a pot
of
mariage frères tea
and take
the morning in.
slowly.

perfect.

more soon.

Oh man, this is my idea of heaven. When we were in Paris we would go out early to buy croissants and baguette too. I wish I could have a Paris breakfast every morning ... though I would probably gain a lot of weight.

When I'm on holiday I feel the same, breakfasts are so special when you take it in a leisurely way watching the world go by...refreshing!
