gocco frustration

i attempted
to gocco
this weekend.

attempted
should be
emphasized
since not
only was my design
a big blurry mess
but
the image seeped
through
to the other side
of the tee
when i set it,
i.e. disaster.
a
botched
birthday
present.
*sigh*
i wish i had
gocco experts
like
f.pea,
lisa,
or
lisa
to help me.
i feel
a little
frustrated-
bugheart,
the gocco failure.
i have to
redo the shirts
this
week.

i did put
together
a little
package
for my nephew

off to seattle
with
a little tee
that
turned out okay
and
these
great finds
from
value village
this past
thursday:

aren't these
adorable?!
just like
his dad wore
in
high school...

and
this little
vintage
leisure top:

also
something
that his
dad would wear.
look
at the cute
tag:

i also found
some more
baby clothes

to subject
to my
amateur gocco
skills...

and
this vest...

in the hope
that i may
someday
look
this cute
{no chance}.

i did get
another swap
package out
{hooray}

i have many
many more
give-away™
packages
and
swaps
to get out...
i am trying
to get them
all done
before
my move
on dec 2nd
{more on
that
later}!

hope you all
have a wonder-
ful
weekend!

the monday
give-away™

will be
tuesday,
as
grub and i
are hosting
a party
for my dear
labmate
scott
who has his
big thesis defense
tomorrow!

until then,
xo

it will get better. try putting a clean towel or piece of cardboard under the print when you set it.

I think those prints are sweet, even if they aren't exactly what you planned.

your packaging is so cute! who wouldn't want to recieve a package like that!
good luck with the gocco!

oh yes, the gocco and i have a very tense relationship most days. i suspect that it might be worth investing in the fabric stamper kit if you plan to do clothes. much easier than maneuvering shirts into the machine. i think your shirts are sweet, and of course the rest of your package is perfect.

i could write 100 blog posts about all my frustrations with the gocco. it is a tempermental little tool. i think that's why i love it so fiercely... it's hard to satisfy. definitely stick a piece of cardboard or a whole section of the newspaper inside your tee when printing. from the computer screen, your images look great. i love the happy packages!

oh my gosh you have been a busy busy bee!!

i second hannah on the fabric stamper... i am going to look for one for you!

also second eireann - put a little piece of cardboard between the front and the back of the shirt.

i like your print [even if you don't]

and those baby clothes... esp. the shoes... what is it about tiny shoes that gets me every time??

awww bug! I'm sorry things didn't work out with the gocco :( but from the pictures you showed, they looked good! Silkscreening in general is tricky! I've had many frustrations too.

all your packages look precious, I love all the little tags you put on things, so cuuuute!!!

hugs friend!

your nephew is lucky to have a stylish thrifting aunt just like my miles!

i feel as if for every gocco success, i have a few failures - you've received some great suggestions already - do try again!

After I got a give-away package from you many months ago, I was inspired to start packaging my outgoing mail with a bit more creativity. Seeing your adorable tags makes me want to up the bar again... hopefully my recipients will appreciate it as much as I'm sure yours do.
