summer is fleeting...

is the end
of august
just a rough
time of year
for all of us?
seems like
it brings
with it
so much stress.
is it
the academic
calendar...
or is the
seasonal calendar
that makes us
feel rushed
as fall
approaches?
rushed-
must cram
everything
into
the
final
moments
of
summer...
the rush before
school begins
again.

this is
an ever present
force
in my life...
i have
been thinking
about it
a lot
as i compile
a cd of songs
about
summer ending
and
fall beginning
for shari
and
as i count down
31 days now
until
my exam.
it's cram time.

i hope that
some of you
are
enjoying
these
late summer
days...
have
some iced tea...
or
a weekend of camping
or
just sit
by
the open window
and listen
to the last
of the cicadas,
as i baracade
myself
in the library
with
piles of books
of things that
i should know
by now.
....................

::: finds :::

my finds for friday
at the village
were sparse...
just a few
scarves
to get me
in the mood
for fall
and future
windy days:

1. vintage vera scarves

i too
can't resist
a vera
.

2. cotton scarf

just by jcrew
but lovely pattern.

::: also :::

the polaroid queen
has
inspired me
{again}
to revisit
my old love
for the
original
instant photo.

::: and :::

i am afraid
i have to
let
the great monday give-away™
take this week off
...
forgive me,
i just can't find
anything
in all my piles
this week.

::: please :::

do
have a lovely
week!
xo

LOVE the photos - Lisa is such a great influence huh?!!!
The end of August does seem to be stressing a lot of people out and causing some disorientation...
we just have to sit it out and maybe adopt lisas mantra for the week...:)

August stress! Tell me about it! Our August at the 64th parallel is raining and cold---41F this morning! Kepe going---Sept. is always better.

My mom used to have so many Vera scarves. I always thought they said "Usna".

Good luck studying and hope to see you soon. :)

wow-
I've been noticing your comments around-but never took the time to come over here and visit. Your blog (and you!) is amazing, I will be back.
I love your piles and all of mav's card hung up on your wall-really beautiful!

Ice tea plus the sound of cicadas... it sums up all things Summery as we move into Spring (here). Hope the 31 days until the exam go as to plan as those things can...
take care, grache

Gwen,

I have a bugh question for you: Why are the cicadas so "prolific" this year? We're serious nature lovers (buggies and all) but they have been a little bothersome. LOUD (we can hardly hear each other) and they seem to dive bomb us.

Anyway, your photos are lovely, as always.
