day 5
in
the color week...
i know that the
color for today
is red
but
let me
talk about
it's compliment,
green,
for a minute.
i don't have
a green thumb.
i kill plants.
i really try
but i am just
not good
with them.
my brother johnny
has
the green thumb
and
the sense of direction
gene (linked?)
i don't have either.
so when
my labmate
gave me
a little stump
of a plant
last year
because
he was about
to throw it away
i took it
because
i just
couldn't
let him
throw it away
(i got the stubborn gene).
i occasionally
watered it
when it
looked dry
for the
last 6 months...
and
this week
i got this!!!!
although
it is a
more typical
flower shot,
it has
special meaning
to me
because
i not only
didn't
kill a plant...
i brought it
back to life!!!
maybe i have
the green thumb
gene
afterall? ...
nah,
i think
that
i just got
the
hope for
the
hopeless
gene.
this evening
i returned home
after
the day's light
had faded...
so stay tuned
for
value village
finds
tomorrow.

what a beautiful amaryllis! t has a lime tree that is producing big limes after 2 years of producing nothing. plants are so exciting but you have to be patient. xo, s
terrific angle on the amaryllis!

i have really enjoyed looking back over your week of color and the thoughts that have accompanied them....
