it's time for more
glassware
in my
collection collective.
you already
know
that i am fond
of pyrex
but i first
fell in love
with glasbake.
although
this glassware
is often mistaken
for pyrex,
it is really
quite different.
it is older-
i believe
that it was
primarily
produced
in the
30s and 40s,
it is heavier-
probably
due to
the techniques
of the time,
and
it is less common-
was not
produced
as widely
as pyrex
and the company
is no longer
around today.
here is
some of
my collection:
.
i love glasbake
because of the
beautiful
textures:
.
the small white
cups
pictured above
have a bumpy
grainy-like
texture
(hard to convey
in a photograph)
and most
of the older pieces
are bumpy
or grainy
on the bottom:
of course
the last thing
i need
is more
kitchen stuff
but it's
difficult
to resist
when i find
another
piece of
glasbake!
what do you collect?
check out
the
collection collective
and
share
your collections.
'til
thursday...

i saw square coffee cups in a vintage store - a set of 6 - for $45! they were beautiful, though. your collection is great. i like the white dish with polka dots!
i'm not familiar with glasbake but i love the textures and colors. you have some great collections. xo, s
i LOVE your collection. so gorgeous!! glasbake is amazing stuff!
my grandma had lots of glasbake in her kitchen. i always loved the textures. my dad put it all out on the curb when my grandmother moved out of her house a few years ago (apparently he hadn't heard of eBay at the time...).
I love the dish with the polka dots too! Its awesome.
I love your dishes! (Having seen your kitchen, I suspect you have secret access to another dimension to store it all? :) )
