bugs+sandals=summer

bugs. bugs.
bugs!
they don't
call me
bugheart
for nothing.

butterflies

by day...

moths

by night.

that means
summer
to me.

it also
means
sandals
piling up
in a
corner of my home:

this evening
the was a
co-birthday party
for tanya & i
at
stitch-n-bitch...
eliza made
an angel food
cake
and
i received
some
little prizes

from
michelle
and
mika.
thank you both!
michelle
made me
bug
stitch markers!
i heart them.

thank you
so much
michelle!
what a
wonderful
birthday
gift!

i also came
home to
a big
package
from
dacia!
more
on that
on my
friday
post.

'til then,
xo.

Is that Automeris io? I have a thing for Io moths.

Is it true that the females don't have mouths--that they are on a mission to reproduce before they starve to death?

I love that the fireflies have started to come out, to me they are the real bugs that mean it's summertime. I thought of you last night because I was wondering what fireflies eat. Enjoy your collecting and b-day gifts!

Ack! I almost forgot. Our "pet" caterpillar molted upside down in its jar and we have a "caterpillar costume" to look at in the microscope. Awesome. I will post pictures soon here http://www.flickr.com/photos/robertogreco/
