this morning
it was beautiful
as
i walked
from the metro
to school.
lisa's photos
inspired me
to take
the auto diptych
of our lab truck
and this one
of my outfit
today

one of
the wonderful things
about fall
is
you get to
start wearing
sweaters and coats.
so maybe
this is something
i
particularly
love
because
i
grew up
in
s. california
where
the weather
rarely dropped
below
70
and
rainy days were
a special treat.
so maybe
this explains
my addiction
to coats...
if lisa is an addict
then i have
a serious,
rehab-type problem.
as i pulled out
coats
to photograph,
i came to the
full realization
why grub put
a moratorium
on coats
and declared
(when he tried
shove of
his 2 coats
into the closet)
that
i needed
to get rid
of some coats.
so i will be
offering some coats
up for swapping.
i don't need more
coats but maybe
we could swap
for other things,
like handmade stuff.
stay tuned.
today...
i found 6 coats
in my
tiny closet
(hence the wrinkles)
in my
office alone-
yikes...
so here is
the collection collective
part 1:
work stash

all these all
vintage coats
purchased
for under $15...
i have to say
my favorite
is the gray
cheveron coat
because it goes
with everything.
but
it doesn't
have pockets
so my hands
always freeze.
i need to make
mittens attached
by a string
for it.
usually
i fall in love
with coats
because
of the buttons...
i have
a vintage button
fetish.
here are
close-ups
of the buttons:

tomorrow
the collection collective
part 2:
home stash
10 more coats
to go
(i am leaving
out jackets
so i won't be
too
embarassed)…

um... your diptychs are AMAZING. both of them.
and drool over your coats.... drool... i can't wait for part 2 [the buttons, the textures... the cuts.... sigh]
I love your coats! This project of mine is almost over, so I would love to make a trade.
Oh by the way I meant to tell you that I love the felted bags you made for your friends. They are so lovely.
That grey coat is definately fab, i love the green one too.
Beautiful coats! And I thought I was bad....
Since I'm here...how the heck do you get so many pix on your blog in one post??
Next to you, it seems as though I have an aversion to coats. I thought I loved coats and layers however my collection (if it can be called that) fades in comparison.
see you, g
I'm not an official coat therapist... but I think any coat collection that needs to be shown in two parts indicates that the owner may have a coat addiction.
It's nothing to worry about though, just out of curiosity how many jackets do you have?
Cheers, lj
the coats + the buttons = wonderful! love your outfit as well, tights!!
I heart your diptychs! I still can't get over the coolenss of that outfit! & you thought you weren't as stylish as Lisa & Lisa! You look totally awesome ;)

great photos, texture. I had a coat collection years ago and gave them up when I kept moving. I am envious! ;)
