transition
when
light slinks
away
with
the warmth
of the afternoon.
before
night
silently
returns.
the purgatory
before
the night.
between
becoming
and
done.
dusk.
my favorite time
yet
there is
a
certain
sadness
to it.
the
inevitability
of its
passing.
in
n. carolina
this weekend
for a
friend's
baby shower...
her
little one
is due
in
2
short weeks.
i have
a special
love
for
n. carolina.
i went
through
a great
many changes
during
my
years
there.
a wonderful
time,
a painful
time,
but
a time
of great
friendships.
friends
becoming
mothers
is both
amazing
and
frightening.
a transition
between
a world
you know
and
a world
you
only
perceive.
on
the drive
home
i found out
that
another
friend
was
going
to be
a mother.
will i
always
be
waiting
here
at dusk
or have i
passed
through
to night?

lovely polaroids! isn't it always bittersweet to return to a place full of mixed memories.
I must admit dusk is my favorite time of day. Your transitions remind me of a somewhat melancholy, yet thoughtful T.S. Eliot poem. Especially this part-
Here we go round the prickly pear
Prickly pear prickly pear
Here we go round the prickly pear
At five o'clock in the morning.
Between the idea
And the reality
Between the motion
And the act
Falls the Shadow
For Thine is the Kingdom
Between the conception
And the creation
Between the emotion
And the response
Falls the Shadow
Life is very long
Between the desire
And the spasm
Between the potency
And the existence
Between the essence
And the descent
Falls the Shadow
For Thine is the Kingdom
i'm fan of dusk too....
the polas are great.

much love, at dusk, in the middle of the night, in the morning... >>squeeze<<
Dusk is a rare thing in the land of the midnight sun! I'll have to wait until Autumn for that magical transition time.
So many babies----everywhere! I know exactly what you mean.
