Quercus alba

{wednesday's purse}

i work
on trees.
well,
on caterpillars
that eat trees
but
at least
indirectly
i study trees
too.

by far
my favorite
tree
is the white oak,
Quercus alba.

i love
the smell
and shape
of the leaves
and
the caterpillars
that nestle
in their leaves.

when
i was trying
to come up
with
a decoration
for this purse
for a
blog friend,
i couldn't
decide on one
that would
suit her.
i knew that
it would
be
plant-affiliated
but what...
and then
i thought
of the
gentle and noble
oak.
perfect.

i hope
she likes it.

meanwhile
bowls
are
being
felted
for
my etsy shop
update
next friday.

A white oak. How wonderful that sounds (and I always love a posting that points me to wikipedia for a little extra research). Such a wonderful tree... & look at that wonderful purse. I second Lisa, perfect colours!
