my soundtrack

i often
have these
1-day obsessions
with
a song.
i want
to listen to it
all day...
over and over
again.
especially
when i
am in a funk.

today it's
gentle moon.

procrastinating.

thinking about
new blogs
with
blog pals...

and
going here
with grub.

and
god
i am
in love
with these!
makes
me
play
me by the sea
in my head.

what's your
soundtrack?

last installment
of paris
tomorrow.

today i have been listening to "paint it black" by the rolling stones a lot. not quite MY soundtrack, but i do enjoy the song. (funny- i had an extreme animosity towards the stones until just recently.)

i spent a large part of the day procrastinating as well, and you know what i was doing for about an hour of that time? i was looking at all of queenthings photos. i'm in awe.

Thanks for the link to Sun Kil Moon, i've not heard of them before and really like what i've heard. I will be on the lookout for their albums.

this is too wild! so, i go to the sun kil moon sites and stuff (thanks!) and see a link to caldo verde records. now, caldo verde is a staple at our household. it is a portuguese soup made of collard greens, potatoes, and portuguese smoked sausage. (my grandmother, much like all small-town portuguese people, had collards in her yard so she could get them fresh and cook the soup). now, what's the chance anyone would know that??? SO COOL!!!

often my soundtrack is whatever cd i wake up to... right now it's the smiths (best of)... but for some reason this morning "home on the range" was stuck in my head. eh? i'm guessing it was because of the rain because i kept thinking "where the skies are not cloudy all day." kind of annoying though :)

right now i'm listening to "scattered and small" by amelia curran and "love again" by david myles and "hard line" by jill barber, again and again and again. and "demon lover improv" by jolie holland. and "up against the wall" by the be good tanyas. and, now, sun kil moon. what a lovely song! thanks for the link.
