great plans

sometimes
i look
up at the sky
and it's so
clear and blue
and
the leaves
so unbelievably red
that i feel like
i am underwater...
like one of
my brother's
paintings.

but
i wasn't
underwater
the past
few days,
but rather
under a pile
of things
to grade...

i had
great plans
for a
the collection collective
on polaroid cameras
this
past
wednesday
but...
that
will wait
until next
week.

i did
get a few
moments
to take my
portrait a day.
here are
they are:

day two: joan

day three: grumpy

it's dark
already
so it will
have to be
an evening
portrait
again
tonight...
but i am off
to a modern dance
performance
with the girls
so they
will
be my models.

i will leave you
with another
polaroid-
the stairway
on the way
out of class.

have a great
weekend!

Thank you so very much, Gwen, for transforming me through your camera from a stressed-out, frazzled grad student into a glamour girl. Polaroids are so magical- especially watching them develop, waiting to see the light and color unfold. I am so grateful for your amazing friendship!!!

xoxo,

Joan

I empathise, I'm only just crawling out now from under a big pile of grading myself.

another amazing photo.
its actually arriving at something i strive to capture in my work, but rarely can nail down. perhaps i should switch to photography.
