head above water

sorry i have
been missing
in action
the last week...

i am trying
to keep
my
head
above
water
.

.......

when i was
a kid,
years
before
i trained
to be a lifeguard,
i was a lousy
swimmer.
i would try
to follow
my brothers
out into
the deep ocean
but i wasn't
a strong enough
swimmer
and almost
drowned
several times.
the waves
took me
under
deep
dark
salty...
i didn't know
where was
up
and
where was
down.

i feel like that
right now.
battling
sickness
{sickness purgatory}
and
battling
lack of motivation.

.......

i spent last
weekend
cleaning
and
reorganizing
for my mother
and aunt's visit...
i organized
my necklaces
[they had
been in
a big nasty
tangle
on my dresser]
using an
old metal
wall plaque
purchased at
value village

began some
new
art pieces

and
cleaned up
my bedroom
[the room
i have the most
trouble
keeping clean].
here is
a corner of my home

with
the quilt
my mother brought
{handmade
by my sister}

this week
i have been
bundling
up
and sight seeing

the us botanical garden

with
my aunt...
the national gallery of art

and with
my mom
the vietnam memorial

the washington monument

the lincoln memorial

and on top of
all this excitement
of visitors,
i also received
some wonderful
packages
from
sweet aja

{thank you
so so much
aja!}

and
my brother
johnny

{who is
well-aware
of my traincase
addiction!}

so that
sums up
my week...
i am hoping
to get back
into the
swing of things
with a post
on purses
and other
projects
on sunday...
and catching up
{again}
with all of you.

have
a wonderful
weekend!
