not moving or making a sound

i think
of
s t i l l
as
without moving
but
can things
that never
had
motion
become
motionless?
can
the
inanimate
be
still?
an ordinary static photograph
can
a cup
be silent?
can
a object
seem
calm?
i think
that
i often
try
to animate
the
inanimate-
sometimes
more
successfully
than others.
what
do you
think of
as
still?
