i took
a little trip
home
to the northwest
for my birthday.
it was a trip
to visit family
so i didn't
eat out or
visit friends.
just relaxed
with the family
and enjoyed
the company
of my
very cool
almost-4-year-old
nephew.
i had
dinner at
a
regular hang out
where
my brother joe
bartends
and
my brother johnny
did the sign out front.
i met up
with my dear pal
{west coast pony}
for dinner.
then drinks
at still liquor
& the living room.
very
uncomplicated.
. . . . .
i did make
a point
to go
with
my brother
and mother
to delancey.
i couldn't resist.
it was an
{unusually}
sunny warm day.
we waited
outside
in their
make-shift
roped-off
area
enjoying wine
before dinner
in the
seattle sun.
our favorite
was the
four cheese
with
local porcini mushrooms.
i dream
of it still.
